Jan 1     Paul and I went to early mass this morning. Charlie Kellermeyer and his doctor came from Indianapolis today in and auto for day's hunt. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 2     Rain snow today. I went to town today.

Jan 3     Nothing done today. Cold snowy day.

Jan 4     We are all home today. Cold snowy day.

Jan 5     Nothing done today. Charlie Baker and his wife were here today. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 6     This morning I took Lady dog to Ed Burk's to breed to his collie. Ollie is cleaning stables and hauled home load sawdust. This evening we cut logs. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 7     This morning we cut load lots and hauled to mill. This evening Ollie hauled home load of sawdust. Fair warmer day.

Jan 8     This morning we hauled home load lumber and hauled stock corn in barn. This evening we put new floor in hog pen. Pleasant day.

Jan 9     I am ditching on pike today. Ollie's piling logs for wood. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 10     This morning we are cutting logs. This evening Ollie is piling poles. I took care of the children while Bess went to town. Fair cold day.

Jan 11     Paul and I went to church this morning. This evening we all went over to Grandpa Stewarts. Fair cold day.

Jan 12     We are hauling logs to Hayden today. Fair cold day.

Jan 13     Same as yesterday. Paw, Dick and I dressed two hogs this afternoon. Fair cold day.

Jan 14     Ollie is hauling logs today. I am tending to the meat and lard. George Baker was here for dinner.

Jan 15     Ollie and I cut load logs this morning and hauled to Hayden. This evening Ollie went to Four Corners to help prepare the hall for dance. I hauled home wood. Fair cool day.

Jan 16     Same as yesterday morning. This evening Ollie dragged and piled poles. I went to town. Fair cool day.

Jan 17     Today Mr. Orcort buzzed big pile of wood. Fair cold day.

Jan 18     Paul went to early mass. We were home all day. I had Dr. Shuman here this morning for Bettie. She has pneumonia. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 19     I hauled home some blocks of wood and split them today. Cloudy threatening day.

Jan 20     This morning I cleaned some stables. This evening I made a trip over some of the pike. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 21     This morning I hauled home wood. This evening I had to repair a culvert on pike at Ed Nordlah's. Cold blustery day.

Jan 22     I split wood today. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 23     Today I went to town, gave bond as Pike Manager. Fair pleasant day.

Jan 23     Cold and some rain today. I split some wood.

Jan 25     Paul and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 26     Today I helped butcher at Grandpa Stewart's. Fair warm day.

Jan 27     Today Bess and I went to her Father's and cut up their meat and lard. Rendered the lard and made sausage. Fair cool day.

Jan 28     Frank Keller and I went over pikes today preparing to do pike work. Pleasant day.

Jan 29     Today I hauled in wood and cleaned the hen house. Pleasant day.

Jan 30     This morning I hauled home load sawdust. This evening I went to town. Cool cloudy day.

Feb 2     Doing some little chores today. Fair cool day.

Feb 8     Paul went to church this morning. Bess went over to her Father's last night to take care of her Mother through the night. They are sick. Cold blustery day.

Feb 9     I hauled home load sawdust this morning. Cleaned the stables this evening. Fair cool day.

Feb 10     Today I went to Thomas Lee's sale. Snowed all day.

Feb 11     Today I hauled home load wood, then filled in the horse stable with gravel. Fair cool day.

Feb 12     Nothing done today. This morning I went over to see Grandpa Stewart. They are very poorly. Cold blustery day. Yesterday at noon we had Dr. Cramm(?) for Charles, he is sick. Some better today.

Feb 13     Snowy blustery day. Nothing done today.

Feb 14     I went to town today. Fair cold day.

Feb 15     Paul went to church this morning. Snowy blustery day. Albert and his wife and her parents were sleigh riding and stopped in here.

Feb 16     Nothing done today. Fair cold day. The snow is very deep.

Feb 17     This morning I took Paul and Alice to school, then went to see Grandpa Stewart. He is very poorly. This evening I went to Hayden after medicine for Charles. He has been sick but is about well now. Pleasant day.

Feb 18     Rainy day. Nothing done today.

Feb 19     I cleaned the stables this morning. Bess and I went over to her Father's this evening. The rain last night and melting of the heavy snow has put the creeks out of the banks today. Snow storm this morning. Fair cool this evening.

Feb 20     This morning I hauled home load sawdust and this evening I went to town. Fair cold day.

Feb 21     Today I put some new posts under stawstack house. This evening I went to Hayden after Albert's wife. She comes from Seymour. He will come up in the morning. Fair cold day.

Feb 22     Paul went to church this morning. We all went to Paw's for dinner. Albert and his wife are home today. They were married 8th of Dec. 1913. Cold cloudy day.

Feb 23     Nothing done today. Snowy cold and blustery day.

Feb 24     I went to Seymour today to buy some feed. Fair cold day.

Feb 25     I went to Hayden after feed shipped from Seymour. Joe Stewart came up to see his father. He is very poorly. Fair cold day.

Feb 26     Nothing done today. This afternoon Bess and I went over to see her Father. He is no better. Fair cool day.

Feb 27     I went to Vernon and N. Vernon today. Fair cold day.

Feb 28     This morning I went to Hayden after Joe Stewart's family. They are here to see his Father. He is very poorly. Fair cool day.

Mar 1     Bess and I went over to her Father's today. He is no better. Very blustery day, cold.

Mar 2     Nothing done this morning. This evening Bess and I went over to her Father's. He is just the same. Fair cold day.

Mar 3     Bess and I went over to her Father's today. He is very poorly. Cold cloudy day.

Mar 4     Today I took Bess over to her Father's and left her there. I went back again to sit up with him tonight. Pleasant day.

Mar 5     I came home again this morning and done the chores and then went back to Grandpa's then came home tonight. Done the chores then went back again tonight to sit up and help take care of Grandpa. He is very poorly. Pleasant day.

Mar 6     I went to town today. Bess still stays at her Father's. He is no better. I went back over there tonight. Cold cloudy day. Some snow tonight.

Mar 7     This morning I took Joe Stewart to Hayden. He is going home for the day. Then I brought home 2 pike scrapers there were shipped there for me.

Mar 8     Today we all went over to Grandpa Stewart's. He is so poorly that we stayed all night. Cold cloudy day.

Mar 9     This morning 1:40a.m. Grandpa Stewart died. Bess and I were there. He would be 82 years old July 3, 1914. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

Mar 10     This morning I fixed the roadway in the cemetery at Six Mile. This evening we went over to her Mother's. Fair cool day.

Mar 11     Today we buried Grandpa Stewart. Very cold blustery day.

Mar 12     Today I helped Bess wash. Fair cool day.

Mar 13     I went to town today. Fair cool day.

Mar 14     I am sick today. Had Dr. Cramen over this morning. Pleasant day.

Mar 15     I am some better today. Dr. was here again this morning. Pleasant day.

Mar 17     I am the same. Bess went to town today. Cloudy cool day.

Mar 18     Yesterday Paw and Dick took 14 head of hogs to Lovett for me. I was not able to go. Today Paw and Dick and Stewart Euler killed 2 hogs for our meat. Fair cool day.

Mar 19     Stewart is hauling out manure today. I am getting some better. Cloudy cool day.

Mar 21     I rendered out lard this morning. This evening Bess and I went to John James' burial. He died Thursday evening. Fair cool day.

Mar 22     We were all home today but Paul, he went to church this morning. Grace & Alvin were here for dinner today. Cold blustery day.

Mar 23     Nothing done this morning. This afternoon I had a hand to come to begin to work. His name is Alfred Speckner. We went to Hayden after load sawdust.

Mar 24     This morning we cut hogs. This evening Alfred hauled them to mill. Fair cool day.

Mar 25     Bess and I went to town today. Then I went to Seymour on train and bought a collie dog named Prince. Alpha hauled out manure. Cloudy day.

Mar 26     My 35th birthday. Alfred hauled out manure today. This morning I hitched Pat colt for first time and drove him over to Grandma Stewart's. Took home two plows. The appraisers are appraising the property today. I sold John colt to Arthur Morin this morning. Pleasant day.

Mar 27     Nothing done today. Rain all day. The creeks are very high.

Mar 28     I went to town today. Alfred hauled 2 loads sawdust home today. Fair cool day.

Mar 29     Today we went to George Baker's for dinner. Joe Baker's 55th birthday dinner. Pleasant day.

Mar 30     Alfred trimmed fruit trees today. This morning I was on the pike looking after culverts. This evening Bess and I went over to her Mother's. Pleasant day.

Mar 31     This morning Alfred and I made and hung some new gates in the barnyard. This evening we worked on pike, repaired culverts and plowed out some ditches. Warm cloudy.

Apr 1     Rainy cool day. We repaired some fence between showers today.

Apr 2     We worked on pike 6 hours today. Then went to Jacob Burgmeyer after small load corn fodder. Fair cool day.

Apr 3     This morning we got out few telephone poles and hauled home load of sawdust. This evening Bess and I went to town. Alfred hauled out manure. Cold cloudy day.

Apr 4     This morning we repaired telephone line. This evening we repaired garden fence. Pleasant day.

Apr 5     This morning Paula and I and Alice went to church. Home this evening. This afternoon at 2 o'clock Henry Shaffer was buried. He died Friday evening, 3rd. Fair cool day.

Apr 6     This morning we repaired fence. This evening we ditched on pike. Cloudy warm day.

Apr 7     Nothing but chores done today. Rainy day.

Apr 8     This morning we cut some poles for wood. This evening we went to Hayden after load sawdust. Cold cloudy day.

Apr 9     Today we cut poles for wood. Fair cold.

Apr 10     This morning we went to Hayden after 2 loads of fertilizer. This evening I went to town. Alfred trimmed fruit trees. Fair cool.

Apr 11     This morning I went to Hayden after last load fertilizer. Alfred burned the brush in the orchard. Nothing done this evening. Rainy day.

Apr 12     Paul and I went to church this morning. This evening we all went over to Grandma Stewart's. Fair cool day.

Apr 13     This morning Alfred and I repaired fence. This evening I went to Baker's with Nell and Maud. Alfred cleaned the stables. Pleasant day.

Apr 14     Alfred and I hauled 2 loads of lumber to N. Vernon to Miller's. Warm cloudy, rain this evening.

Apr 15     We are building new wire fence today. I went to Baker's with May and Lottie this evening. Cloudy little rain.

Apr 16     Alfred is fixing fence today. I went to Grandma Stewart's to help get things ready for the sale tomorrow. Cloudy little rain this morning.

Apr 17     We all went to Grandma's sale today. A beautiful day and a large crowd of people.

Apr 18     I hauled load of wheat to Vernon today. Lawrence bid on the wheat at the sale yesterday and we all hauled it to town today. Pleasant day.

Apr 19     We all went over to Grandma Stewart's today. Cool fair day.

Apr 20     I went over to Grandma Stewart's this morning and got my load of hay. Alfred took Sade and Minnie to the train. They went home this morning. This evening we manured the garden and plowed it. Cloudy cold day.

Apr 21     This morning Alfred and I ditched on pike. This evening we plowed the potato patch. Pleasant day.

Apr 22     Today we planted the potatoes and made the garden. Pleasant day.

Apr 23     Today w plowed the orchard and planted to corn. Pleasant day.

Apr 24     This morning Bess and I went to town. Alfred hauled out manure. Rainy afternoon.

Apr 25     This morning Alfred and I repaired some fence. Some rain today. This evening Bess and I went to Butlerville to see Ray and Ann Swarthout.

Apr 26     Bess and I spent the day at Butlerville. Ray & Ann brought us home in the auto this evening. Cloudy warm day.

Apr 27     This morning we worked on pike No. 6 this evening. Shuman altered Paw's and my colts. Warm sultry day.

Apr 28     This morning we went to Hayden after new planter and new corn plow. Repaired fence rest of day. Warm & showers.

Apr 29     This morning we repaired fence. This evening we broke corn stubs off the wheat in the Bottoms. Fair warm day.

Apr 30     We began to plow for corn today on the Vandover farm. Cloudy and very cool.

May 1     We are plowing today. I went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

May 2     I went to Baker's this morning with Bettie. Also dome some bridge repair on pike. Alfred plowed all day. I plowed this evening. Fair warm day.

May 3     Paul and I went to church this morning. Roy Swarthout and Ann were here this afternoon. Fair warm day.

May 4     We are plowing this morning. Nothing done this evening. Had a hard rain. Rain all night.

May 5     This morning I went to Baker's with Nell. Alfred repaired some fence. Very heavy rains this afternoon. The creeks are out of their banks.

May 6     We are repairing fence on the Martin Farm. I went to Baker's with Maud and Lottie this evening. Cloudy warm day.

May 7     This morning we took 5 colts to pasture over at Grandma Stewart's and repaired the fence. This evening we repaired fence on Martin's farm and put 4 calves on pasture there. Warm cloudy, had another hard rain this evening.

May 8     Rainy cold day. This morning we shelled seed corn. This evening Bess and I went over to her Mother's. Rainy cold day.

May 9     We repaired some fence this morning. This evening Bess and I went to town. Fair cool day.

May 10     I went to confession this morning. We are all home this evening. Fair cool day.

May 11     We are plowing the old pasture today. I went to Baker's late this evening. Fair cool day.

May 14     We quit plowing today noon and began to disk and harrow getting ready to plant. Fair warm day.

Mar 16     We all went to Joe Stewart's at Seymour today. Alfred worked on pike 3 hours this morning. This evening he disked corn ground. Fair cool day.

May 21     Holiday…Accession Day. We went to church this morning. This morning Sadie Stewart came up on #26 for the day. We all went to town this evening. Fair warm day.

May 31     We all went to church this morning. The children received first holy communion. We were all home this evening. Hot dry day.

Jun 1     Rainy day. This morning I painted the front room. This evening we went to the Bottoms but the rain sent us home.

Jun 2     Today Alfred finished listing corn. Today I hauled out manure. Fair cool.

Jun 3     Today we are plowing on the Martin Farm. Fair & warm day.

Jun 4     Today Alfred is plowing on Martin Farm. Bess and I went to town. Also went to Theodore Hess' sale this afternoon. Hot sultry day.

Jun 12     Alfred plowed corn today. I went to Queensville after sewer pipe for pike. This evening I plowed corn. Fair warm day.

Jun 13     Alfred plowed corn today. I went to town this morning. This evening I went to Democratic Convention at Hayden. Fair warm day.

Jun 14     We are all home today. Ed Stewart and family, Emma & Stewart and Grandma & Kittie Theckstan were here today. Fair cool day.

Jun 15     This morning we plowed corn on Martin's Farm. Today noon Roy Swarthout and Ann came here. Then after dinner we went to Seymour for an auto ride. Were back at 4 o'clock and I finished planting corn. Had a small patch that has been too wet so far. Alfred harrowed the patch for corn. Fair cool day.

Jun 16     We plowed the corn in Long Bottoms first time today. Fair cool day.

Jun 17     We plowed corn in Bottoms this morning. This evening Alfred began the plowing here at home. I went to town. Fair cool day.

Jun 18     This morning we plowed corn here at home. This evening we began to cut wheat on the Anderson Farm. Fair cool day.

Jun 19     We finished cutting wheat on Anderson's Farm today. Cool cloudy little rain. Jun 20     We are cutting wheat at home today. Fair cool.

Jun 21     Paul, Alice and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Fair hot day.

Jun 22     We finished cutting wheat here at home this morning. Then plowed corn the balance of day. Fair hot day.

Jul 1     I went to George Baker's to help thrash this morning. Began to rain and rained little all day

. Jul 2     This morning we finished the weed hoeing and second plowing in the listed corn. This evening Alfred began to lay by corn here at home. I went to Baker's to help thrash. Fair cool.

Jun 3     I went to town this morning. Alfred is plowing today. I did same this evening. Fair cool day.

Jul 4     This morning we are laying by corn on Martin's Farm. This evening we went to the picnic at the Corners. Fair warm.

Jul 5     This morning we went to church then went to Paw's for dinner. Willie & wife are home today. Fair hot day.

Jul 6     Today we are laying by corn and hoeing weeds in Long Bottoms. Fair hot day.

Jul 7     This morning I began to mow hay. Alfred is plowing corn this evening. We put in 3 loads of hay. Fair hot day.

Jul 9     I am sick today. Paul and Alfred hoed weeds out of corn in Long bottoms. Hot sultry.

Jul 10     Alfred finished the corn in Long Bottoms today. I went to town this morning. This evening Ray and Ann Swarthout brought us a new Ford auto. We all went to Butlerville tonight and I took Ray home. Hot sultry.

Jul 11     I cut hay this morning. Alfred is repairing some fence. This evening we took up 3 loads of hay. Hot sultry day.

Jul 12     Paul, Alfred and I went to church this morning. We all went over to Paw's after dinner. Hot sultry day.

Jul 13     I cut hay this morning. Alfred laying by corn in Sullivan Bottoms. This evening we took up 1 load hay and then it began to rain and is still raining tonight. I think the drought is broken now.

Jul 14     I cut hay this morning. Alfred laying by corn. This evening we put up 5 loads of hay. Fair hot day.

Jul 15     The same as yesterday. Put up 4 loads. Cloudy hot day.

Jul 16     This morning we began to cut hay in the Bottoms. This evening we put up 1 load, then began to rain. Had hard rain tonight.

Jul 17     I went to town this morning. Alfred hauled out manure. This evening we went to Bottoms and put up 2 loads of hay. Fair cool day.

Jul 18     Today we are putting up hay in Bottoms. 6 loads today. Fair cool day.

Jul 19     Paul and Alfred and I went to church this morning. This afternoon we all went to Seymour in new car. Went to Joe's. Fair cool day.

Jul 20     Alfred is cutting hay this morning. Paul and I went over to Grandma's and unloaded two loads hay that were left on since last Saturday. This evening we put up 3 loads of hay at home. Fair hot day.

Jul 21     This morning I cut hay and Alfred finished laying by corn in Bottoms. This evening Alfred and Paul shocked up the hay. I went to Lawrence Stewart's to thrash. Fair hot day.

Jul 22     This morning we went to Emma Euler's to help thrash. This evening we put up 2 loads of hay. Fair hot day.

Jul 23     This morning Alfred is cutting hay on Martin Farm. I put in new culvert on pike at Hanley Farm. This evening Alfred and Mr. Anderson put up 4 loads of hay on Martin's Farm. I cut some hay with binder to thrash. Fair hot day.

Jul 24     Bess and I went to town this morning. Alfred is finishing cutting hay. This evening we finished putting up hay. 2 loads on Martin Farm and 1 load at home. Hot sultry day.

Jul 25     This morning I thrashed over at Grandma's. 168 bu. This evening we thrashed at Roy Marsh's. Hot sultry day.

Jul 26     I went to town early this morning after Will. Paul and Alfred went to church. We all went over to Paw's after dinner. Bess and I took Will and Mary to town tonight. They went back to Indianapolis. Fair hot day.

Jul 27     Today we thrashed Fisher's and part of Eddies. Hot sultry threatening.

Jul 28     This morning we finished Ed's thrashing. This evening thrashed Paw's and mine. I had 168 bu over in Bottoms and 118 on Anderson's. 225 at home. Altogether 511 bu. Fair hot.

Jul 29     Today we thrashed Jess Cook, Jacob Burgmeyer and A. Gannon. Fair cool day.

Jul 30     This morning we mowed weeds along the pike. This evening we all went to county fair. Hot today.

Jul 31     This morning we helped thrash Sam Young. This evening we all went to county fair. Hot dry day.

Aug 1     This morning we fixed the straw stack. This Evening I went today to Hayden. Had some wheat ground for feed. Alfred mowed weeds and briars. Fair hot day.

Aug 2     We all went to church this morning. This evening we all went to Grandma Stewart's. Hot sultry day.

Aug 3     This morning we took load of wheat and 3 hogs to town. Hogs worth $8.50. 200 bu wheat 77 cents. This evening we made a new gravel bed. Fair warm day.

Aug 4     Today we hauled 4 yards gravel to Four Corners for new parish house. Fair & warm day.

Aug 5     This morning we took 2 loads wheat to Vernon for Grandma Stewart. Sold to Lemon. 79 bu and 20 lbs 77 cents. Then brought 2 loads cement out to Four Corners. Fair hot day.

Aug 6     This morning we put up new fence along road over in Bottoms to give colts more pasture. Eddie helped build it. This evening Alfred hauled out manure and I shod some horses. Hot sultry.

Aug 7     This morning we went to the woods and made a new water trough and brought same home. This evening Bess and I went to town and took her mother along. Alfred is repairing fence. Had a nice rain this evening.

Aug 8     We are building some fence this morning. This evening we went to Hayden picnic. Had a nice rain last night and this morning.

Aug 9     Paul and I went to church this morning. This evening we all went to Baker's. Some little showers of rain today.

Oct 24     Today Bess and I, Paw drove to Indianapolis to see Billie, he has his leg broke. We drove home in the night. Aunt Deanie Wolseffer came home with us. Fair cool day.

Nov 9     Bill Adolph helped me husk and shock corn today. Pleasant day.

Nov 10     Today Bill Adolph and I began to husk stock corn in Bottoms. The corn is very poor, took all day to husk 2 small loads. Tonight we all went to Baker's School to an Oyster supper. Pleasant day.

Nov 11     Today Bill Adolph husked 2 small loads corn. I didn't husk. About sick today. Warm, cloudy day. Raining tonight.

Nov 12     Today Bill and I husked shock corn. Little rain tonight. Fair today.

Nov 13     I went to town today, took 25 bu potatoes and shipped to Indianapolis to Will and the girls. Bill Adolph husked shock corn and Paul hauled in 2 loads. Fair cool day.
